Why This Resource Exists
Anne Arundel County divides record duties among several agencies. The Department of Detention Facilities processes county jail intake and operates the current Inmate Locator. County Police and Annapolis Police create their own incident and arrest reports. The Office of the Sheriff manages the public active-warrant list, while Maryland courts hold case events and dispositions. The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services covers people in state custody. We organize links and plain-language lookup steps for those official systems. We do not copy their files or display booking-photo collections.
What We Are Not
Anne Arundel County Busted Mugshots is privately owned. It is not part of Anne Arundel County Government and has no affiliation with the Department of Detention Facilities, County Police, Annapolis Police, the Office of the Sheriff, Maryland courts, DPSCS, or any federal agency.
We cannot confirm custody, release a person, correct a government record, file a Maryland Public Information Act request, provide legal advice, or speak for an agency. Only the office that maintains a record can give an official answer or certified copy.
How Sources Are Chosen
Official sources come first. The county Inmate Locator answers current county custody questions. The Detention Facilities PIA topic accepts requests for booking photos and inmate records. Maryland Judiciary Case Search shows public court activity, and the Sheriff’s Active Warrants page handles its limited weekly warrant list. News and third-party sources are described only as secondary leads because they may be selective, incomplete, or stale.
Charges and arrest photos concern accusations. They do not prove guilt. A court disposition is the proper source for how a filed case ended, and sealed, expunged, juvenile, or restricted records may not appear publicly.
Search Partners
Some search boxes connect visitors with outside research providers. We may receive a referral fee when a visitor uses a partner tool. That commercial relationship does not change the order of our editorial guidance: Anne Arundel County and Maryland government sources remain the first place to verify custody, warrants, booking records, and court outcomes.
Partners control their own results, terms, prices, and data practices. We do not guarantee their coverage and do not treat a partner result as an official government record.
